Thread sizes determine the diameter and pitch of the thread and are available from M5 to M36.
The keyway width refers to the width of the keyway that is cut into a workpiece. The norelem product family includes keyway widths from 6 mm to 42 mm.
Slot keys made of steel and stainless steel
The material of the body can be selected for some products. In addition to aluminium, norelem offers slot keys made of steel and stainless steel.
Slot keys made of steel are a robust and durable solution for connecting wood, metal or plastic. In contrast to aluminium slot keys, they are less susceptible to corrosion, have a higher permissible load and can therefore carry heavy loads.
Steel slot keys are easy to install, provide a strong, reliable connection and are very cost-effective compared to stainless steel slot keys.
Stainless steel slot keys are more expensive per piece than steel or aluminium slot keys, but are also less susceptible to wear and scratches. Due to the hardness of the stainless steel, stainless steel slot keys have the highest corrosion resistance. Despite contact with water or other liquids, stainless steel is more resistant and therefore rustproof.
Application areas of slot keys
Slot keys can be used in many applications. Roof rack with aluminium profile rails, for example, include the T-slot in the roof rack rail. With T-slot adapters, the slot keys can contribute to the secure fastening of roof bike racks or roof boxes.
Slot keys are therefore mainly suitable for fastening and positioning aluminium profiles, airline rails and roof racks. In addition to these functions, slot keys can also be used to secure and connect components.
